Privacy notice
What we collect, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it.
Who we are
Websites by Design to Scale is a trading name of Design to Scale Ltd, registered in Northern Ireland. Design to Scale Ltd (company number NI669361, registered office 27 Silverstream Crescent, Bangor, Northern Ireland, BT20 3NF) is the controller of your personal information. Contact us about anything on this page at hello@designtoscale.co.uk.
What we collect
- What you send through our contact form: your name, business name, email, phone number, industry, town or city, what you need and your message.
- How you found us: the ad campaign, search term and page you arrived on, if you came from an ad or tagged link.
- What we need to provide your website if you become a client: contact details, the content you give us, and billing records.
- How you use our site, but only if you accept analytics and advertising cookies.
Why we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and prepare a quote, because you've asked us to (steps before entering a contract).
- To build, host and support your website, and to bill you, if you become a client (contract).
- To keep accounting and tax records (legal obligation).
- To understand which pages and ads work, only with your consent. You can withdraw consent at any time using the cookie settings.
We don't use your information for automated decisions, and we never sell it.
Who we share it with
We only share your information with providers who help us run the business, under contracts that require them to protect it:
- Netlify, which hosts this website and receives form submissions.
- Google, for business email and, if you consent, analytics and ad measurement.
- Stripe, which handles invoices and payments if you become a client.
- Our accountant, for bookkeeping and tax.
Some of these providers are based in, or store data in, the United States or elsewhere outside the UK. Where that happens, the transfer is protected by UK adequacy regulations (such as the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework) or by the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that don't lead to work are deleted after 12 months. Client records are kept for as long as you're a client, then for 6 years for accounting and legal reasons. Analytics data is kept for 14 months.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your information, ask us to restrict or stop using it, object to how we use it, or ask for a copy to take elsewhere. Email us and we'll respond within one month. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this notice
If we change how we use your information, we'll update this page and the date below.
